Hi All,

I'm in the market for a new car, specifically a 2012/2013 S60 R Design but I am having nightmares trying to figure out the packages, options etc so here I am.

Essentially the features I care about are

Premium Audio
HIDs
Sunroof

That's honestly it. Between the premium plus, prestige platinum, sport platinum titanium plus etc etc etc I can't make heads and tails over what has what.

Here's an example car:

2012 Volvo S60 T6 R-Design, $34,995 - Cars.com

It appears to have HIDs(the dealer didn't know… sigh) no nab(which is ok) and a sunroof. Does no nav = no premium audio? Any features people think I should take a look at? I've never owned a Volvo so I'm VERY unfamiliar with the brand. Any information at all about these cars would be great!

 

Hi, I have the T5 AWD. Don't think I have the premium sound but the sound in my car is very good. Also I opted for T5 and think it has more than enough power. Once it is warm it is very quiet. Features that I particularly enjoy are the xenon active headlights, Blindside warning system, wood inlays and AWD. The car is very comfortable and sure footed. I /we enjoy driving it.

 

I'm not sure if it carries through to the R, but for 2013 s60 the packages were as follows (and if you go to the volvo site - they should be the same for 2014)

base -
premier - leather, moonroof, keyless drive, power front passenger seat
premier plus - rear park assist, front fold seat, home link, digital compass
platinum - nav with voice command, premium sound


I traded in my 05 s40 with 219k miles for a 2013 s60 premier two months ago. I don't notice a difference with the sound (my s40 had premium sound).


Look at volvocars.com - it looks like the R is only platinum for 2014. Not sure what it was for 2012 and 2013.
