I have a 2006 S60. According to the dealership the Radiator fan motor bearings were dying, and thus the motor needed replaced at a fine price of about 600 dollars. I found a used radiator fan motor on ebay from a totaled volvo that was a perfect fit. Yet, when I installed the part the replacement motor is making the same noise. What are the chances of 2 motors going out in the same fashion? Is this something I need to be worried about as long as the fan is working? Are there other options for aftermarket fans that would be reliable?

That is odd that they both would be making the noise. Are you sure it is the fan motor and not something near by?

 

I am 100% sure it is the fan motor. When I unplug the motor the noise stops. Any suggestions?
