My 2004 S60 started to shut off while in idle. It started only on right turns and not very frequently now...4 months later it happens on left turns and once in idle going straight. Any idea what this could be? Is this a known problem? It is beginning to become dangerous.
Thanks for any advice.

I have the same problem with my 2003. It happens to me when I come to a light or stop sign and am slowing to a stop. The engine just cuts off. I have no idea what the problem is. However, I did get a message that said "Engine System Service Required" about two days before it started to die. I wonder? Fuel Pump maybe?

your aic or automatic idle controller may need to be cleaned out. By yourself some throttle cleaner and clean it. if you're not sure where your aic is you can refer to S40concept.net, under the how to guide, the only difference is your AIC may be located somewhere different under the hood.
