Default S60 Transmission

2001 S60 Transmission does not shift. Stays in 3rd gear. Had transmission replaced with same result. Could it be the transmission Computer

I am kinda new to the S60, but it seems "big brother" volvo has retained a LOT of control over these cars with computer calibrations that are only available to the dealers' service departments. It would seem likely, given your circumstances, that it is likely a computer issue. I'm sure some veteran s60 owners will chime in, but seems logical to me.

My feelings exactly. I had the carto a volvo deeler and they ran me around with a multitude of computer reports and said is tas at leat a $4000.00 repair without any guarantee. Giess us Volvo customers are on their own. I'd be glad to give names as I am tired of the run around with Volvo

Did the mechanic or shop that performed the fix offer you a warranty?
I would think you would want them to correct the problem as you did pay them for a working transmission.
If they say they can't fix it, tell them your taking it to another shop and billing them for the work. I'd personally take it to a performance transmission shop or someone who has worked on Volvo or Ford transmissions in the past.
Good Luck!

Bring your car to the dealer for software upgrades. They should reset the adaptations and do a drive cycle.
