Hello i have 2004 S60R After starting car it ran approx 3 seconds then shuts down, blowing the fuse to the fuel pump. This is the third time in the past month. Only happens when engine is cold (morning start up) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

I wonder if the fuel pump itself is bad.

 

the s60Rs along with the xc90s had an issue with a wiring fault that causes the pump to fail early. there is a tech note that dealerships have that make them replace the pump and install a different harness to the pump. another thing is if you let your fuel level get too low as to where the light comes on it will also cause the pump to fail early. I have a 2005 s60 R and had to have this installed and now it runs great!
