Default shakeing when in gears..

I have a 2001 S60 T5 and this morning I turned on
my car and everything was fine except for the fact when I put my car in reverse it started shakeing. This also happened when i put the car in drive and then in park... The car doesn't shut off either..What could this possibly be?? Any help would be appreciated..thank you

That would be dieseling, could be cheap gas, crappy gas, plus carbon build up in the motor along with some partially clogged or stuck open injectors. Could also be a fault of sparkplugs that are faulty. I would go ahead and throw in some premium with a can of injector cleaner. Or you can seafoam the motor. And it should clear up. Also pull your spark plugs and check them.

Thanks for the reply adub96, I always do put premium gas in it... so I know I'm not putting in bad gas... I was going to check the spark plugs tomorrow.. Two of my mechanics told me the same thing you did... So I'm gonna start with that.. hopefully that works because I don't want to end up spending too much $$.. Thanks again

why it's still shaking? My mechanic couldn't find anything wrong with it and even ran a diagnostics on it.. Please help!!

One of the coil packs might be bad. Have the codes read out of the car.

Thanks tech, took it to the dealer to get the codes checked, they said the only thing that they found was like you said...one coil was bad, but they did recommend changing them all.. I only changed the one.. Are they just trying to get more money out of me by telling me to put them all or should I change the other four?

I would replace them when you can. Here is a tip Auto Zone and Advanced Auto Parts can get you OEM Volvo coils for pretty cheap.
