first of all - 2004 Volvo S60 with a 2.5L Turbo 2 whl-dr 183,xxx miles... Hi, thank you for reading... my car drove great shifted fine, but once it heated up (especially in park with car running) it would shift up and down extremely hard but only in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear tho. It would NEVER having shifting probs in the higher gears. often it would go away after about 20 min of it constantly doing it. well about 30 min ago it started to do the hard shifting and all of a sudden the dash lit up with "service trans" light and also check engine. And now the car feels like its stuck in 3rd or 4th gear. It is very sluggish when driving from a stop (kinda like if it were a stick shift and I was trying to accelerate from a stop in 3rdgear). The car drives excellent once it gets up to a higher rpm. and also the little lcd window on the dash that says what gear i'm in just has a little " - " instead of a "D"... when I hooked up the OBD it gave P0785, P0700 and P2407 (which I already knew about)... So now I could really use some assistance, I have NO Idea what to do. I do all my own maintenance and repairs on all the cars ive owned, but have never ran into transmission problem in all my years.
