Default 185/65/15 winters on 2006 V70?

Hi,

I can see from the various fitment charts out there that a 2006 V70 2.5T AWD comes with the following two tire options:

235/45/17
and
205/60/16

Can I use 185/65/15 (or 190/65/16) or will the 15" rim and high sidewalls make for a sloppy fit? I ask because I've found a few of them for sale on Kijiji but not many of the 16" versions.

Thanks,

Vince

I doubt they will clear the brakes.

The factory size on my 2002 v70 is 195/65/15. I have a set of steel Volvo rims with Michelins snows mounted and they work great. My car has the 11" brake rotors. If you have the 11" roters they will clear. If you have the 12" they may not.

My old 1998 V70 came with 195/65/15 tires. The 185 tires will lower the car, increase fuel consumption and give you less ground clearance for winter.
