Default Shocks/Struts DIY?

So my s60 is creeping up on 110K miles. I've been putting the shock/struts replacement off now and have been suffering through symptoms of worn spring seat and/or bearings. Had CAB replaced last year...so I guess it's time. I've replaced shocks/and struts in several of my vehicles on my own, but was wondering if this would be any different. Has anyone with moderate mechanic skills attempted to do this on their own? The VADIS guide talks about a couple special tools and precautions, but wondered how necessary they are. Any help with this is greatly appreciated, including any input to what people have paid to have this service done by a volvo mechanic. THanks for your help folks!

Get the strut assembly off the car, compress the spring, if you dont have the special tool, use a 21mm on a 1/2" IMPACT TO remove the top nut and there you go.
