Cool short rub sound when taking off after I just started the car

I have a 2002 S60 T2.5 AWD. When I start going (about 10 or 20 feet) I hear a short rub like sound from the front of the car. This only happens after the car had just been started. If the car has been running and I start going, I don't hear that sound. I haven't heard it either when going in reverse. It seems like it is only when I'm going forward. Does anyone else hear this too? I'm wondering if this is normal because I had just recently bought this car. Another postulate is that something (a pump, etc) in the engine compartment has gained suction and making that initial movement of fluid sound. Could it be something to do with the turbo? I don't know, just trying to figure this out.

I have always heard the rub sound on my 2002 S 60 AWD, generally after shifting from Reverse to Drive after about 10' - 15'. The dealer only shrugs his shoulders and says it's probably nothing but offers to flush the transmission for $ 300.

Default thanks

Thanks for the reply. Still wondering if this is normal to everyone. If anyone has an explanation as to why, I would like to know.

The ABS does a self test when you first start the car and pull away in Drive. I think it sounds like a "hrooff", but that's what it is.

I did ask that question at a Volvo Dealer and they said the same thing. It made sense after that. I figured it was something like that. It made me feel better knowing what it is.
