Spare Tire Mounting

Spare Tire Mounting
This may sound like a "petty" gripe, but recently purchased an S60T and was getting ready to go on an extended trip. When I started to check the spare tire, I find that the valve stem is not available when in the mounting position. Had to remove the hold-down, then pull the tire partially out to check the tire pressure. In all my years of driving, I have never seen such poor human engineering. Talked to the Dealer and his answer was, "Duh, most people don't check their spares anyhow". It seems to me that an angled extention on the valve stem could fix this problem.

RE: Spare Tire Mounting
Hi: Found a solution to the problems, although not perfect, it does save unloading a full trunk just to check a spare tire pressure. The solution I purchased is from www.campingworld.com and they are 135 degree valve extenders. The part no. is 18398 and they run $12.99 for a set of two. I admit they are "pricey", but they do the job and you can at least check the air in the tire if you install one of the extenders. Hope this helps someone.
