Strange Passenger Side Headlight Problem
Ok...we all know what a pain in the **** it is replacing the low beam passenger headlight bulb. Open the hood, remove the air cleaner lid, use your 11mm socket to pop off the connectors holding the bottom portion of the box, disconnect the MAF plug in, pop off the cover in the back and yada yada. I've had to do that several times because I put the new bulb in, test it...the error message clears. I put everything back and an hour later, the message reappears. Sure enough the headlight is out. I pull it but there appears to be nothing wrong with the bulb. I put it back in.....test it...the error clears but the next time I drive a night, the bulb appears to be out again. What's up?!?! I have slightly bent the little diffuser in front of the bulb. Does that have some function other than dispersing the light?
You can buy H# connectors at local auto parts store. I replaced the connectors on mine and have not had a headlamp go out in a long time. Replacing them will give you a little more length of wire to work with in that cramped space also.
By the way....I must have been sleep walking through this whole thread because as you all probably already guessed...it's the drivers side I've been dealing with. What a dumb ***.... Thanks for not piling on. And for that and the great information, I thank you!
