My wife drives an 2001 S60 w/65K miles on it. She recently noticed a problem with the interior lights not coming on and also the sunroof would not function. I looked at the fuses but everything checked out okay. Two days later everything worked fine. That was about 3 or 4 weeks ago and still no problems. Anyone have any clue or experience with this and what may have caused it?

 

Most likely the computer went to sleep.
By cycling the Locks the computer woke back up.

 

Mine just did this yesterday. Along with the visor light not working.
What do you mean by cycling the locks? Do I just need to lock/unlock the car with the remote? Or should I disconnect the battery for 20 min?

 

Lock and unlock with the key/remote.

 

That fixed it. Just had to wait till the wife's keys were around. I didn't want to spend $120 for programming a remote plus the price of the remote.

My 2000 s80 just did the same. Thanks a lot for helping me out. It sure did **** me off when it wouldn't close last night so I had to leave it open over night.
