TCM Adaptive Mode initiation procedure
Hi folks, this is my first postto this forum and first repair to a Volvo.
Over in the Corvette (C4) world, I provide technical support for the ZF S6-40 6-speed manual transmission.
Once in a while we take on a different project of which this time is a Volvo2001 V60 w/5-speed Auto which had a transmission driveability issue (it wouldn't).
Pleaseexcuse me if I get any of the technical wording incorrect...
We just performed avalve bodyR&Ron a2001 V60 5-speed auto transmission and would like to reset TCM adaption mode as specifiedin the electronic service manual.
My partner was able to get the procedure foronce in TCM adaption mode but could not findthe instructions on how to initiate this mode.
Does anyone know the procedureforinitiatingTCM Adaption Mode?
Thank you in advance for any help you may provide.

RE: TCM Adaptive Mode initiation procedure
If u release the car without re-adapt good luck! Can cause transmission to have shift flare and harsh engagement of clutch. I also recommend Volvo synthetic transmission fluid (pricey but need it) putting it in adaptation mode and drive is the best way to go. Plust the adaptation mode is not really for tayloring to customer's drivign habits.. it is for the transmission to find and synchronize with TCM to find a perfect shift. Also wiring harness and valve body have to replace together due to design change.
