There was $3500 rebate for S60 ??
I remember there was $3500 rebate for S60 by edmunds.com. But I just checked it again and it is gone!
Was it only in my dream? Or rebate expired on 01/31?
If it was real, when will such a rebate reappear? And what's the underlying reason for such a generous rebate?

It was real, but it wasn't a rebate. It was a manufacturer to dealer "incentive"- kind of like a subsidy paid by the manufacturer to the dealer on each unit sold. I used then incentive when I bought my S60. Per Edmunds, the $3,500 was only available for the second half of January. These incentives are available sporadically throughout the year. The next one could be smaller or larger than $3,500. You just have to keep checking.
hfs, thanks for replying!
I would still say dealer incentive is a way to attract potential buyers looking for bargains. But $3500 is big, at least to me. Wondering why --
1) Volvo is not selling very well?
2) Volvo belongs to Ford now. And it's Ford's way to sell cars.
3) A new S60 is coming out?
