Timing Belt / Camshaft Hub/Reset Valve
What's the stardard price for replacing a timing belt? Parts & labor? I've got a 2002 S60. Quoted $350 for part alone and about same for labor. Seems very high based on other threads.
Also told I might need to replace Camshaft Hub and Reset Valve based on computer code... quoted additional $950 total on that. Again, what should I bee looking at for a range on this?

I bought the timing belt, tensioner, and idler pulley for $122.65 and received 10% off telling them i was a member of this forum....I placed order on monday had parts by tuesday, if you want to replace your water pump as well the whole kit will run you $299. for genuin volvo or you can go with the conti for $216.99 less 10% and free shipping, buddy of mine owns a shop and replaced the belt and did a tune up for $250.00 in labor the plugs cost me $15 for ngk platinum plugs so for $375.00 i changed out everything and my car runs fantastic and I don't have to worry about the belt going or any of its components...I was going to replace the water pump but the volvo dealership told me that they don't usually do the water pumps when they do the belts cause the pumps are made to last, you can either go the cheaper route and have your mechanic check your water pump and replace it if needed or just replace it...it still will be cheaper than the $700 the dealer quoted you! I am not sure about the camshaft but use this website it will give you an idea of what you can expect to pay: http://repairpal.com/estimator good luck and I hope you figure out what is best for you!!!
