Default Tire Pressure System

The tire pressure system on on my S60 Comes on and off in the message window. I have checked the tires cold and hot and the pressure is 35lbs but still this alert is driving me bonkers. Spoke to a Volvo specialist and requested to disconnect this poor excuse of technology. I was told even if I removed all the tire censers the light would still remain on....Really? I hope someone who's reading this can suggest a way to do it. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks..

is it telling you which tire is low??? typically when you have a vehicle with tps they recommend you use nitrogen in the tires instead of air due to the fact that the nitrogen is not effected by the weather i.e. cold/hot it maintains a constant pressure unlike regular air from a compressor....reply back if it is telling you which tire is low and check that particular tires sensor, it could be going bad....not sure other than that why it is staying on other than low pressure or a bad sensor...hope this helps

Default tire pressure system

The message window only reads " tire pressure system needs service"
I guess I'll have to bring it in to Volvo to be scanned for defective sensor. I was hoping to just shut it off rather then being nickel and dimed for all these quirks that seemed to haunt Volvo cars. Same deal with my old 850 turbo. Thanks for your input..

Did you ever get this problem resolved? I have the same year and model. My read out said low tire pressure(they were around 30psi). I brought it up to 35 but had the same message. Brought it up to 38 and still reads the same. Is there a re-set?

Default Tire pressure

It was a bad unit in the tire. Took it to Costco and had it replaced for $45.00....a lot cheaper then the dealer cost....

the batteries in those can go bad and when that happens -$50 in your pocket you cant replace the batteries in them. they are neat but when mine went bad i removed them and turned off the system at the dealer (i dont know if you can turn it off on 2005 and up since from then on its a law to have them but mine is a 2004 and it was a factory upgrade) but no harm in asking the local volvo shop
