Towing with S60 AWD
I have a 2004 2.5T S60 AWD, does anyone have a hitch and what have you towed with it? I have an F150 4x4, the wife a forester 2.5L, however the wife is pregnant with our second child and in order to cut costs I would like to pull the F150 from the road (about $100/month saving) while she in on mat leave. I have a 14ft duck boat and a 14ft aluminum atv trailer with brake contol. I am wondering if the S60 could haul the 14ft atv trailer with one ATV on it (around 1500 lbs)? My neighbour from Holland actually put the idea in my head when he said it would easily tow the ATV trailer.
Any thoughts? I plan on flushing the tranny with Mobil 3309 case of fluid, the vehicle was just tuned up (fuel filter needs changed still!). It would appear that I will need a brake controller installed along with a hitch. I do have the option of repairing my old snowmobile trailer and using it and skipping on the brake controller.

You got the owner's manual? It has all the info you need on that. I'm looking at the manual for my 2004 S60.
Without breaks: 1650lbs
With Breaks and 2" ball for short runs: 3300lbs
With Breaks, smaller ball and long hot drives: 2000lbs
Things to consider:
Tongue weight should be from 110 to 165lbs
Stay under 50MPH (like that's gonna happen)
Increase tire pressure accordingly
Trann'y overheat warning light will go off in the event of overheating
That's what I got from looking it up in my manual, which applies to the 2004 model year.
