Default Volvo 2016 S60 wont lock

After using the trunk, an alarm went off (which sounded different than the normal car alarm). I was able to silence it with the remote - I think with one of the lock / unlock buttons.

The problem is now the car is unable to lock. When I try to lock it manually (inside the car) it automatically unlocks - some sort of kneejerk reaction. And using the remote does not work either.

This is urgently problematic for us as we park our car outside, etc.

My car is the Polestar version, but I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Any advice is greatly greatly appreciated - thank you!

Peter

The system thinks a door or the trunk is open. Perhaps a bad switch in one of the door lock assemblies. A compatible scan tool can tell you which one - or what the alarm cause is -

You could try reopening and closing each door (and trunk) to see if the possible sticking switch unsticks - but unfortunately not much else do - until mr. dealer or indi Volvo shop talks to the car with VIDA.

Thanks Hoonk. Very helpful and appreciated.

It ended up sorting itself out after I open and closed the trunk and used the doors a bit (just by chance).

Have a great day.
