Volvo dealer telling me that can't tell which coil is bad?
My daughter has a 2005 S60 which started missing and "bucking" when driving between 60-65 when going up an extended grade on the highway. The volvo dealership is blaming the coils but "can't tell which one" and so want to replace all 5 of the coils. I think this is BS but would like to know what you folks think.

Hard for me to answer that. Do they have the car? If so, a simple reading of the OBD system will tell which cylinders are missing. If it reports random or all cylinder misfires, I doubt the coils are bad. I have never heard of ALL of them going bad at once.
Did your daughter recently get gas? There is a better chance of her getting bad gas or the fuel pump going bad than all coils failing at one time.

When I bought mine it also did the same...i changed the plugs and it cured it,ngk platinum.....i have also had a bad coil and the symptoms were a rough idle and poor acceleration,I bought one coil and tried it on all cylinders until it works better on one of them..i hope this helps you, regards
