Default Volvo S60 2.5t - Modifying help plz

Hey there!
New to the volvo enthusiast life style lol. as well as new to this site.
But I love my car, and Would really appreciate some
good direction on where to buy after market mods for my car.
Any good suggestions on sites that sell,
perhaps the S60 2.5 conversion kit for the TYPE R?
Is the computer upgrade worth it and safe?
Body kits, just in general, would like to take my car
beyond its daily driving, I've seen what folks can do to these
things. its crazy.
Please someone with time, help this newbie out. lol

Thanks for your help!

Heres a great built thread Swedespeed Forums - NJGB 2002 S60 2.4T AWD Build Pic Thread

I have a 03 2.5t AWD same engine as you and i have done some engine mods and as well as a Tune and its worth the $$ .Changed the car in a major way.My suggestion is get a budget together on what you are looking to spend. Then double it.The mods on these car do not come cheep but in my option are well worth it.Most if not all can be done with a good set of tools, floor jack and some time.As far as Body kits they have to be done buy a experienced body shop to get them to fit right and tight.
Get the car to stage 0 (plugs, filters, coil packs and all other necessary items timing-belt kit if at 100k+)Volvo Parts, BMW Parts, European Car Parts | FCPGroton.com sells a tune up kit and have great deals on OM and OME partsl.
Then go to
Volvo Parts, Accessories and Performance Specialist Since 1963
Volvo Performance Parts & Accessories: ViVA Performance
Car Accessories & Performance Parts For AUDI, BMW, VOLVO, Volkswagen - EuroSport Tuning, Canada & US
Welcome To Elevate Cars | Elevate Cars

These are all Amazing after market company's and have a great track records with the Modding community.

Here are 2 more good company's

Autos - Volvo - S60R-V70R - Performance - Phuzzy Double Power Package - Phuzzy Motorsports
Phuzzy for Downpipe with Cat and the best and only FMIC Kit for a Volvo S60.

Home - OBX Racing Sports
OBX can save you some big $$ on a downpipe and exhaust. Both are a must if you plan to get a Tune

I know this thread's been idle for 6 months, but MYS6T, did you have to trim "a lot" off the bumper for the FMIC from phuzzy?? The downpipe+IC combo [especially the bigger IC option] is a great price, and I'd love to save even more installing myself...but I'm always leery of having to cut pieces off my car .

I am not using an FMIC at this time but have done 2 on S60s and no not a lot of cutting but its a tight fit on a Non-R. Im not sure the larger IC will fit in a Non-R S60. Both times i did these they used the smaller IC kit and thing are tight. You can go wrong with the Phuzzy kit its been proven to provide great results over and over and install instruction are for R but are pretty easy to follow on Non-R. On S60 all major things are in the same places and once you get started the adjustments you will need to make it fit are very evident and it really only fits one way...
Watch for IPD they are coming out with in the next week or so a direct replacement fit Performance IC. This one goes right where your current one is but is made and designed to give as good or even better #s than FMIC..

I will definitely keep an eye out for the ipd intercooler. The reason i liked phuzzys was the downpipe combo deal. Anyways im just saving up for things now.

Was the trimming mostly plastic off the bumper, was there trimmimg of the frame/steel in front if the engine??

yes bumper plastic and no frame/steel.
I would n ot want to push you away from Phuzzy. They are a great company and we as Volvo drivers need all the after market companys we can get. But for just the downpipe look at OBX on Ebay they have Catless full 3" downpipe for $150 for S60R and Non-R AWD .Also T5 and S60 FWD cars. This is what i did along with many other over at Swedespeed. Buy this then get a 3" hIFlow cat and bring to any muffler shop and have them Cut pipe then weld the Cat in. All said and done cost me $300.
