Volvo S60 Engine VIN64 versus VIN61
Hello. My Volvo S60 has had some engine problems and I've been debating the best course of action, either attempting to fix the existing engine or purchasing a different engine to use. The problem I have run into is that most of the engines I have found for sale are the B5244S which were used in cars where the 6th and 7th digits of the VIN are 61. My car however is a Californian model which uses the B5244S6 and has 64 for the 6th and 7th digits of the VIN.
I've been trying to find somewhere that details exactly what is different between the two engines without any success. Does anyone know where I can find that information?
Thank you.

I use in my car an oxygen sensor for the cal model (mine is not cal). it works fine... I guess it has to do mostly with the ignition programming so the main computer. It also might have a different catalytic converter and oxygen sensors.
Could pistons have a different compression? Maybe also check rods and pistons numbers to be sure.
