Default Water inside S60!

I have an American spec 2003 model S60 2.4T last night I was driving in a puddle of water and the water was quite deep up to knee height and im afraid that the water has gone inside the engine area.

The car wont start now, any ideas how to fix this?

was the water fresh or salt? did it die in the crossing? or were you able to drive a while after the wading? does the engine crankover and just not start?

Did you get water into the engine? if that happens then I'm afraid then it's likely to have bent the connecting rods at least, a replacement engine is likely to be the only viable repair
