Where is S60 Top Engine Torque Mount
I have a 2002 S60 that has been making noise in the engine compartment for a few weeks now and getting worse. Standing in front of the car it coming from the left side (passenger side) near the drive belt area and sounds very much like a vibration issue. A couple of years ago my mechanic mentioned my "top torque mount" would need to be replaced at some point (back then he said it was no hurry).
I brought the car to a new mechanic yesterday who said it definitely sounds like an engine mount but he would need to take the car and inspect them all to figure out which one.
Does anyone have a good picture or diagram of where the engine mounts are ? I'd like to replace the top mount myself and see if that solves the issue but I have no idea where it is, or the other engine mounts. Also, any links to repair instructions would be helpful, I can find any online other than that for an 850 (on Mathews Volvo site).
Thanks !

Thanks.
I didn't realize the top mount was so big, I was looking for something smaller.
It definitely is shot, the rubber is completely worn out. I just ordered the part from my parts place as well as the front lower mount. The top mount seems simple to replace. Does anyone have experience replacing the front lower mount ? I found this info on the 850:

My guess is that the process is similar for the S60 ?

are you talking about the lower front transmission mount? If yes i hope you bought the Torque Mount complete not just the bushing.I made this mistake and getting the bushing out was a 1 hour job with a vice a socket and a hammer to bang it out of the mount. No fun should have spent the extra $20 and bought the hole piece.

I replaced the upper mount (near the firewall), very easy, took 20 minutes. I also replaced the lower front mount, that was a bit trickier as I had to support/raise the engine, but took only about an hour.
What are the symptoms of a bad transmission mount ?
Thanks,
Mark.

I used the Scantech one and then bought the IPDs Engine stabilizer upper Poly Bushing Kit.Rather than OME .This really made a big difference the bushing kit holds the Engine in there nice and tight.Great mod for me.Brought the car back to that tight feel like i should be.No more Engine jump when getting on the gas from a stop .The open road driving is great really tightened up the overall feel of the car.
