Whistle while acceleration and slowing down
I was wondering if anyone is experiencing this. I just bought a 2015.5 s60 t5 awd. I've
Only had it for a month now. As soon as I started driving it I noticed a faint whistle noise when accelerating. It almost sounds like blowing over a bottle...or a whooooop. I hear it when slowing down too. I brought it to volvo twice and they claim it's the turbo and that's a normal sound. I think it's extremely annoying...and no one else seems to hear it but me.
Has anyone else heard this? Is it really the turbo? I don't understand why if it's the turbo it only happens sometimes and not all the time. I just want to make sure this noise is normal..it's a brand new car. Thanks

Have you ever owned a turbo before? You really are describing exactly what a turbo sounds like. The pitch changes somewhat as it spools up or down. A turbo is driven by exhaust gas and does only operate sometimes based on what is going on with the engine.
