Hi, just had a fault start on my S80 - when driving along it sometimes 'loses' power, only managing a max 20mph. It advises you to stop and then can take 10 mins to start again. Once started it runs ok - for a while until the problem repeats itself. It is 10 years old. Any advice ?

 

you are in "limp home mode". you should get the engine fault codes pulled ASAP.

you can have obd2 codes pulled but that doesnt necessarily mean theyll know what the codes are for.. id have advance pull codes and if theyre generic youll know what to do but there is a chance youll have to take it to the dealer or a shop with a MODIS or another scantool that will talk with volvo.. or a VADIS
