Why are Factory NAVs so hard to find???
Have been in the market for a new S60 for over a month for one reason and one reason only: the Navigation system. It has been ridiculously hard for my dealer to find a fully loaded S60 with a NAV system. Every car has been fully loaded with every option, but no nav. Any ideas as to why this is? Seems kind of crazy (and frustrating) to me to not be able to find an almost $40,000 with a NAV. Had no problem finding a NAV equpped model for my current S40 (which I am keeping, dont worry)
Any ideas would be appreciated,
Thanks

And, in my own opinion, while factory navs look much nicer than a GPS stuck on the windshield, they are many times more expensive. So, instead of spending $2K on one new from the factory, most of us spend a few hundred on a GPS. Also, factory navs tend to be expensive to update compared to an internet update/download for Garmin, etc. So, unless the maker makes them standard equipment (as, for example, in some Honda and Acura lines) the percent of cars so equipped is relatively small.
I'd love to see what residual % is in Volvo lease books for nav versus, for instance, sunroof or leather. I suspect its rather small.
