I have an '04 S60R and need to replace a cracked windshield. I have a company recommended by USAA (my trusted insurance company) scheduled to come out to replace it for $265 (note: they are aware that there is a rain sensor).

However, my car is still under Volvo warranty so I want to ensure I don't void the warranty. When I called to get an estimate from my local Volvo dealership to compare the quote, the glass alone is $710 without installation. Does anyone know if there is a difference or if it's just more expensive because it's a Volvo part? Also any idea if that would effect the warrenty?

It shouldn't though that rule oddly differs state to state. For example here in florida cracked windshields get replaced for free to you.
