Would you buy this car?
I found a private seller selling a 2002 s60 2.4 *** auto with 100k miles for $7000. It has already had thre water pump and timing belt replaced and after test driving it I would say it's in excellent condition.
It was inspected last week but I asked for a pre sale inspection. Although due to a miscommunication he ended up going to the place and couldn't get ahold of me and left. It was my fault and he was kinda pissed.
I offered him $6500 if as long as we could take it to be looked at again; he said he would take $6500 but that he wasn't wasting any more time taking it places.
Given this info, do you think it is ok to agree to buy this for $6500 without a new inspection?

I would be very cautious about buying it. I would want the service history and a CarFax report. You don't know if it has been involved in an accident or had significant body work done on it. Even $6500 is too much in my opinion. The book value (kbb.com) for the 2.4 is $4500 in excellent condition taking into account the mileage. Full retail (dealer) price isn't that much higher.
