Yes or NO ?!!
I work at a body shop and we have a 2004 S60R sitting there that has 94,000 mile on it. The car is not drive able because it has cradle damage due to someone driving over a large stump. So im needing a cradle for it . Ive also tried starting it and it just clicks. I put a large battery charger on it with the Engine Start option turned on and it still just clicks , im hoping it isn't locked up as it has sat for over a year and a half. I am buying this car for $500 . Interior and exterior of the car is pretty much flawless besides this cradle damage.
What i need to know is if there is a difference in engine cradles for an s60 and the R. Also i hooked our scanner up to it to see if it had any codes and it said it did not . but i noticed that the engine light did flash like 7 times then shut off when the ignition was turned on. Anyone have any info on the cradle and the easiest way to replace it as well as your thoughts on why it may not crank even though theres 12v going to it !

Rs are packages where Volvo boosted HP via a sharper ECU tune and in some models put on a bigger (pumping volume, not physical size) turbo, better manifolds etc. There shouldn't be a difference in chassis parts like the cradle, but you may be able to find the part numbers for an S60 vs the R by using online dealer part sites like volvopartwarehouse.com and a few others that list all the parts and numbers including body parts. If you are hearing solenoid clicks on the starter with a good battery, then I'd suspect either the cable/fuse from battery to the starter or the starter itself. If you hear nothing, then it may also be the immobilizer or the PNP (shifter position sensor) or damaged wiring etc. To reset the immobilizer, use the key fob to lock/unlock the doors like 5-6x.
