Default 1998 S70 5cyl (non-turbo) wont start!

I currently own a 1998 S70 Volvo that won’t start, starter motor runs, engine wont fire. Let me give some background information.

The car sat over winter for 6-7 months and at this point the battery died and needed replacement, upon replacing the battery the car started with no problems at all. Upon driving the car less than half a mile it stalled at a light after my wife accelerated. Multiple attempts to start the car failed. Had the car towed to a garage, the ran a “diagnostic” and came back and told us to change the Ignition coil, wires, plugs, distributor cap, rotor. At this time didn’t have the money to fix it.

Towed the car home, 2-3 weeks later ordered wires, plugs, cap and rotor from FCP Groton all Bosch - parts ‘platinum’ plugs which I have heard bad things about now after buying them. Added “heet” to the tank before doing the maintenance so it sat in the tank for a couple of hours while I changed the parts under the hood. Still no start.

Possible Conclusions.
1. Car sat for so long that condensation built up and when my wife accelerated water was sucked into the engine causing it to stall?
Is there a way to fix this, bleed the fuel lines or something else??

2. The ignition coil is bad and needs replacement.

Any other suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated feel free to ask more questions. I did check to make sure the plugs were gapped according to the direction from the Haynes manual for this car 0.9 mm.
