i am totaly new to volvo world and to this website. i bought a 1998 volvo s70 glt with 140k for only $710. the car needs just a little tlc and brake change. i looked online for s70 ingine. it says that 1998 s70 glt has 190hp, with a low pressure turbo. so my quastion is do ALL 1998 s70 glt's have 190hp, with a low pressure turbo??????

 

GLT's have LP turbo.

You had better become familar with fcpgroton and waltrip volvo and eeuroparts.com for parts. At that price you will be spending a boat load to get it up to ground zero.

You got it for that price for a reason, I suspect you need timing belt, serp belt, PCV, brakes, gaskets for oil leaks, thermostat, engine mounts, spark plugs, dist cap, rotors, trans oil change, engine oil change, complete front end suspension. And if you can do it yourself you can have quite a car, it a dealer touches it you go broke. The above repairs at a dealer would cost you $4 G's min.

Yes it does have 190 HP. But the kicker is the torque. Something like 260 lbs of torque at 1,800 RPM. Most cars get that torque at 5,000 RPM's.

yea i haven't driven my car that much, and hadn't had a chance to check out the torque and acceleration, because i just got it 2 weeks ago. but when the mechanic (friend of my dad) will check the engine, i will defenetly test it out

btw there is nothing wrong with the car ecxept for the abs system, im just making sure there isn't
