hey guys newbie here,just got my 1st 1998 volvo s70 4 door sedan and love it,but wanted to ask u guys since it doesnt show on the title and the only nameplate on the car is s70,which one i have i mean is it a regular sedan, GLT or T-5? how do u tell the difference? thnx for any and all help. bb

 

A decoding of your VIN should inform you of what your vehicle build status was, indicating all major components.

 

Hi Troy, welcome to the forum. Your car is likely a NA version which means it is not a GLT or T5, they do say it on the back of the car. You could also open the hood and see if you see a LARGE turbo tube going over the engine. If not, again you do NOT have a GLT or T5.

Look at the STICKY's in the following sections, General Volvo, S70, and 850. Pay close attention to the NEW OWNER threads. Doing so will help you get aswers immediately and remove the LAG on getting info. We are glad to help in any way possible.

If the 6th and 7th letters in your VIN are 55 than it's a plain Jane S70.
GLTs are 56 and a T5s are 53
