1999 s70 engine replacement questions
Hi new to the forum glad to be part of the community.
I have a 1999 s70 awd with a turbo 2. 4L I drive on a daily basis car runs just fine and I love it but its getting up there in mileage. I just recently bought another s70 its a 1998 model year t5 2.3L turbo fwd with extremely low mileage but it was hit in the rear end hard. Here is my question when the time comes that my current engine in my AWD car has had it will the 2.3L out of the fwd car drop into my AWD car and bolt to my awd transmission? And will there be any rewiring or engine harness I have to do or will it bolt right in and plug into my existing harness?
Thanks in advance

First off, these motors are made to last 500,000 miles if you keep the oil changed so I doubt the "time" will ever come.
On the other note, yes it can be done pretty easily, you won't swap any of the electrical, just the block and head. It usually happens the other way around, where people install the "newer motor" into the older car.

No. You can't just swap the engine without any of the electrical.
It was just a thought and question since my current engine has 400,000km and the one in the parts car I have only has 130,000 km but not a huge deal my current engine runs superb and I dont forsee any major issues any time soon
