I HAVE A 2000 S70 2.4 NON-TURBO. I HAVE THE CAR APART,WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO RESET THE VVT SPROCKET TO THE CAM.

 

How far apart is apart?
Just the t-belt off or the pulley off?

The pulley should have been marked before removing it if you have the pulley off.

There is a long drawn out thing you have to do to set it and it is usually a major PITA to do it.

 

I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH THE PARTS IN THE TRUNK. THE TIMING BELT WAS OFF. THE SPROCKET WAS OFF THE CAM.THERE IS NO KEY WAY. HOW DO YOU REALIGN. DOES IT HAVE TO BE DONE ON A DEGREE WHEEL.

 

There is a special way it needs to be done I will have to dig it up then I can post it.

That will not be till tomorrow.

 

THAT WOULD BE GREAT. IS THE THE ONLY CAR MANUFACTURER THAT DOESNT MARK THEIR CAMSHAFTS. THANKSPCROKEN

 

They would have saved alot of headaches if they had keyed it.

 

You will have to lock the cams into the proper position then use the following info to set it.

The back of the cams need to be locked and what I sent tells you how to set it.
That what you need to do to set it. The pulley just slides onto the cam.
