Default 2000 S70-Air Conditioning

The air comes and goes after a while while driving...Just put freon in it about a month ago. Any ideas

The compressor clutch is worn. You can pull it and reshim, or buy a reman compressor. I opt for reman compressor, drier and orifice tube.

How tough is that to do? What kind of money am I looking at?

You can try a reshim youself. Not very hard and really cheap.

If that doesn't work you've only wasted a few cents and a few hours, but you have also "bonded" with your Volvo a bit more!

Clutch re- shimming should fix it. There's no reason at all to change the compressor. This is precisely the reason the compressor is designed the way it is.
