Question 2000 S70 intake cam plug removal?

2000 S70 GLT, 5-cyl turbo / distributorless:

I'm in the process of pulling the cylinder head, am ready to attach the camshaft position-locking tool on the rear of the cams, but theres a large rubbery black plug on the intake cam side, blocking access to the end of the cam. How does this come off? I'd like to not destroy it if I can help it; I checked and there's no new one in the head gasket kit.

Both Hayes and VADIS say to simply "remove" it -- not too helpful.

Thanks --

You usually have to destroy it to remove it.
There is like a hollow spot right in the center of the plug. You shove a screw driver through the rubber and pop it out.

I know that is really not what you wanted to hear but that is how it is setup.
Your welcome.
