Default 2000 S70.... No transmission dipstick!

Is there any reason why one of these cars simply does NOT have a dipstick on the transmission? Rebuild?

The only thing I see is a little plastic nub that sticks up with a plastic cap on it.

There's a dipstick. Look under the lower radiator hose where it goes up over the transmission.

I agree, it's pretty easy to see on my car standing at the battery and looking down to the left. It may be easier to see if you remove the fresh air intake tube.

Turk 13 is right on. That's what I have a 2000 S70. Pull the air tube and move the wire bundle underneath. Yellow in color.

Some vehicles you will fill this to the edge or top of this hole ( with the car on a level surface , engine warm , idling in park ) w/the proper fluid until it just starts coming out .
Find out if this is the correct procedure .

I would definitely order one then. Should be cheap online somewhere. On my car, the oil dipstick was broken, probably just made of cheap plastic and got brittle over time. I WOULD NOT SUGGEST what was posted above: filling it with trans fluid until it reaches the top??? Why, so you can drain it back out? lol
