I have just looked at a 98 S70 with only 38K miles at a BMW dealer where it was just traded in. The important question I have is that the timing belt replacement for the S70 is at 70K miles, but since it is a 8 year old car will the timing belt have to be replaced right away if I decide to bye it.

The belt will have to be inspected for cracks before anyone can answer that quiestion.

I have seen them break at 50,000 miles on a car.
