98 s70 T5 220k
Hey guys, I ran into a problem. This morning before work I figured I would check the oil since it's been about 3k miles since I changed it last. To my surprise I pulled the dipstick and it was crusted from head to toe with what looks like burnt oil. It does have a brownish tint to it though. The coolant looks fine, none is missing and I didn't see any oil in it. I pulled off the oil cap and the oil in there is clean looking and has no signs of milky like residue.
Any idea what could cause this? The car has 220k miles on it and I'm really hoping I don't have a blown headgasket. The car runs perfectly fine, no over heating issues or loss of power. I drive the car roughly 5 miles a day 5 times a week. I will post a picture of the dipstick when I get home. It also looks like the dipstick tube has burned oil in it.
I appreciate the help.

Don't worry about it. It's likely condensation. Drive the car and check the oil when the motor is warm, maybe 5 minutes after you shut it down. If you are still worried after that, check to see what the oil looks like when you change it next. That's the benifit of changing your own oil, you can look at it when it comes out. Like your poop. Come on, tell me you don't check your poop?
