98 s70 t5
Newbie here... Drove a 240 for 8 years. I've since moved on and now I'm looking to return, but this time in a 98 S70 T5. I looked at one yesterday, but it had some issues. It is a 5 speed which is a plus, but the heater core has gone out and the windshield is cracked which are both issues that I can fix. The problem that
I'm concerned about is the fact the headlights and turn signals weren't working and there is a small oil leak which I didn't have time to locate. He told me that the headlights and turn signals would probably be fixed by the headlight switch being replaced which he was willing to do, but I'm not sure this will fix the problem with the turn signals. The hazard lights, brake lights and brights did work. The oil leak I'm not exactly sure about either. I could smell some burning oil and could see a little bit around the turbo, but that was it. I've read up about the pcv system possibly being the culprit. Any other suggestions?
The car has 161,000 according to the odometer, but the miles aren't exact per Autocheck. The body is in fairly good shape but the leather is extremely worn. Other than that the car drove incredibly. The asking price is $2950 but the guy selling it picked the car up yesterday from a wholesaler. He is willing to fix some of the problems and come down on the price. Should I take the leap or should I be cautious and move on to the next S70?
Thanks
Ben

$3000 is too much, because there are things you have to fix.
The cost of what you are talking about to fix, and they are all fixable, depends on whether or not you do the work.
I won't break it down for you, it takes too much time. But I can tell you a dealer will charge you $2500 to $3000 to fix what you are talking about.
Parts are $1000 min.
Cost to purchase should be $1500. The owner won't sell the car at that price.

So the lights/turn signal issue has been resolved. He is working on getting a replacement windshield put in. I have found a heater core a IPD for $148. I also have noticed most of the oil leaks that are similar seem to be PCV issues. I can get a complete PCV replacement kit at IPD for $93. I am going to look at the car again. I won't pay the $2950 asking price, but since I plan on doing the work myself and am currently without a car I need one quick. Any other suggestions on the oil leak?
