Default 98 volvo s70 n/a mods?

ive had this car for about a year now, and i want to add some performance parts to it.. the only bad thing about my car is that its a N/A volvo s70 which basically sucks...
anyone with an N/A s70 that has done any performance mods to their cars please let me know.

im thinking of getting this, but im not sure if it will fit..

Sell the N/A buy a turbo.

Unless you have money to burn then don't mod your N/A. Unless it is suspension and comestics.

Your not going to gain much if anything by adding an intake to your car. Just gain some sound. And for that price it is a rip off. Just buy a cone filter and slap it on the end of your MAF, because it is the same thing. You don't need that shiny pipe because it isn't doing anything. They want you to think it is getting the filter further from the engine and it really isn't with a setup like that. It is still sucking in hot engine air which isn't good.

I mean you could add a cone filter short ram intake and a custom catback system and maybe see 10-15 Hp in gains or losses. Not really worth it in the long run it wont ever beat a turbo model. Unless you pour big bucks into the car.

It's a 168 HP car. Seafoaming will "do" anything? what exactly do you want it to do. It will clean out the intakes. Smooth out an idle.

The short ram intake filter won't do a thing for you. If you are after power then get a turbo.

If not enjoy the good gas mileage.

Any Advanced Auto Parts store carries cone filters if you really want the filter. Just measure the MAF diameter and get a filter that can fit over the end of it.

Seafomaing is just an all around maintainence thing and wont really give you any performance boost.

Oh Yea! I got my daughter a GLT and it is AWSOME! It has a low pressure turbo and it is tuned to have a heck of a lot of torque at 1800 RPM's. I don't think there is much out there stock that can beat that car to 60 MPH.

I liked the GLT so much I decided to get a turbo car myself.

Red face NA S70 Mods

I built an intake for my car that lowers the filter down to wear the fog light cover is and put on the IPD cat back exhaust. I am pretty satisfied with the results. Tuning an NA volvo definantly doesnt give you the most bang for your buck, but if you dont have the option of replacing your car it is worth it. On the dyno I picked up 8 hp and 17 tq.

If i were you, I would sell your N/A S70, and find a GLT or if possible a T5, even a S60. Find a turbo Volvo. you gain so much power and the extra mods your saying you want to do to the car, it would definitely be worth selling.. I was in the same boat.

You want faster s70, then find a turbo engine and swap them out. There are people on volvospeed who have done the swap. Just something to think about.
