Unhappy 99 S70 Wiper, Radio and other Elect Issues

I have owned my 99 S70 for 5 years and love it. This past weekend I lost electrical power to elect windows, radio, mirrors, wipers, lighter and skylight. The engine still starts and runs perfectly. All lights are working. I have checked all fused and replaced the electrical side of the ignition switch to no avail. I would welcome any suggestions. Please help rain on the way. Thank's, Lou

That's pretty tough. If you used a NEW ignition switch my guess would be a system relay or major system fuse. I found this link on the '98 owners manual.

Default System Relay

All main fuses tested good and I was thinking about the system Relay but with it removed the car would not start, put the relay back in and it starts so it has some connection to the starting function and would appear to be working, so I think I have ruled that out as good??? Thank you for your help.

Did you check the link I sent? If so, maybe you can swap a couple of relays that have the same part number to see what happens.

Default Swapped Relays

I have the owners manual with the same link you sent. Thank's, I did swap the two identical relays in the seconday fuse panel again to no avail. The system relay did not match any other relay and was unable to do the swap test with that one???

Just noticed the shift lock button was stuck in the down position, fiddled with it, wiggeled the shifter, button came back up..... power back on. Do you know anything about the shift lock micro switch?? thank's, Lou

Default Power back on

Yes every thing came back on? The only thing I can think of is that with the shift lock solinoid stuck in the down position a short or fault was created which opened the System relay effecting the other components, wipers, radio, windows, cig lighter, sun roof, fan etc: any other ideas??

Well, my 960 had a cable or something that went back to the colum. Maybe that has something to do with it. I'm puzzeled.
