Default ABS light is on....

My ABS light only comes on when I turn the car on then most times shuts off after a 5-10 min of driving sometimes less. I am not sure if I need the control module fixed or not. The car brakes good, but the back wheels(Right side?) will lock up from time to time when I have to make a hard quick stop. Yesterday I hade a time when the breaks felt tight and a loud humming noise came from under the hood left side of the car not sure if that is the break pump or what, it only lasted a few seconds, the ABS light was not on. I have had the car on a computer and it shows no codes when the ABS light or the service engine light is on....any advice???
The Service engine light does the same thing, on and off at times...
Thanks,
MC

I had a similar problem, had the ABS module rebuilt. Problem solved, couple hundred bucks.

Have the entire brake system bled (all new fluid) and have the ABS module (that's the electronic device under the ABS pump) rebuilt. Look on eBay there are exchange services that will do it ($60-100). Most of them will guarantee the work for life. The problem comes from bad solder joints inside that black module. You need a reverse Torx socket to remove the four bolts but I use the smallest SAE socket I have in my tool kit (1/4" drive).

Don't bother with bleeding the brakes.

Just get the module on eBay and swap it yourself. Its pretty easy and quick.
