Default Performance Chip Tuning

Performance Chip Tuning works with your ECM and adjust for two weeks . Add one to my S80 and I gained 3mpg and 3 lbs of boost.

start with the basics - 1) make sure your car is in good tune - fresh cap/rotor/wires/plugs/intake air filter, use some injector cleaner like Techron or run premium brand name gas every 4th tankful to keep a clean fuel system, inspect the MAF/throttle body to make sure they are clean 2) make sure your car is running the correct weight oil, consider going synthetic. Owners manual (available online) will show weight for your climate. 3) add air pressure to your tires. You can easily run 36-39 PSI. 4) freshen fluids in the transmission. Drain fill automatic, gear oil in manuals. If you have a manual transmission, consider a synthetic gear oil like Redline. 5) turn off your AC except when needed 6) drive with a light foot. Read up on techniques "hypermilers" use. After that, you can consider ECU tunes that have a more advanced spark - but that will also require premium fuel. Buyer beware here - lots of unproven internet claims so do your research. Finally, some tests have shown premium gas can improve MPGs slightly but not enough to recover the price difference.
