Default Air conditioning compressor release valve

I have Volvo S70 98. The air conditioning perform poorly.
The compresor is cicling on and off. When I add 134a, the pressure started to build up and the release valve on the compressor activated, and released the gass. I aded dye, and it spraied from the release valve on the radiator fan, up to the other side of the car.
Can you help?

Default RE: Air conditioning compressor release valve

It blew out the valve because it was to full or the cooling fan wasn't working and it built up to much pressure.
I know on the older cars once the Valve blows you have to replace it.
Im not sure about the newer ones.I have never seen one on an S70 blow out.

My 98 s70 is doing the same thing. Easy fix or do I need a new compressor?

Suggest taking it to an AC shop. Most likely will require a new compressor as well as system evac and recharge. Just my two cents.
