Default Antenna Mast Replacement Instructions?

I've scoured both this site and the interwebs for a step by step write up about replacing the S70 antenna mast with no luck. Could anyone steer me into the right direction? Thanks!

1. Turn the radio on so the antenna tries to raise.
2. Take the nut at the antenna base off.
3. Pull on the antenna until it comes up out of the antenna base that is sticking out of. You may have to pull hard, it will come out.
4. Take the newer mass and push it in the hole until it stops (try to point the zipper in the right direction).
5. While putting downward force, turn off the radio so the motor tries to pull it down. If it goes down, you're done. If it goes down and stops with some still sticking up, install the nut and try turning the radio on and off a couple of times.
NOTE: If you can't get it to go all the way down, you have to much cord/zipper still in the motor and will have to take the motor apart and remove the old zipper. Sometimes it will take a new mass without removing the old broken zipper, sometimes it wont.

Thanks!

Is the zipper you're referring to the long, toothed nylon cord? The mast I got came with that attached.

You should be able to compare the length of the plastic "zipper" that came out with your replacement. If the new one is much longer then a large chunk of the old one broke off and remains inside. Most likely will have to pull the antenna out and open it up to get the broken part out. That's what I had to do to repair mine. Messy inside (grease) but not very complicated.

I ditched that antenna and bought an amplified antenna.
I just took the hot wire from the old antenna and connected it to the hot wire of the new antenna and now I have an antenna that doesn't move and has excellent reception

It's a Metra AW-US02RA

BTW, it doesn't fit completely right, I have it in place, but I think I'm going to have to make the hole a little bit bigger to make it fit 100% right.
