Default Blower Fan Again

My 98 S70GLT has burned up another blower fan. I replaced it about a year ago and for the last 6 months or so it has been running on and off again like an airplane about to take off.

My question, are there any reasons or better yet, precautions to just unplugging it and what if any damage might this cause?

I know it heats the exhaust, but is it really necessary.

Thanks.

Are you talking about the air pump?
If so then did you replace the relay and valve when you did the pump?

If you just unplug it it will set a check engine light.

Tech,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the air pump, not the blower fan. Had to replace that one too. So would there be any adverse affects to just simply unplugging the air pump?

I already have the check engine light on...been on for some 2 years now.
