Default Blowing Oil & Smoke

I bought a 1998 S70 GLT w/ 2.4 turbo(U.S.). It was near perfect in and out, and had 148,000 miles. After a few weeks it started leaking oil from the dip-stick and oil cap. I noticed from smoke coming from under my hood after I drove it. So, I took it to the shop, and suggested maybe a compression issue. Noted, I am a Certified Collision & Refinish Specialist. Supposedly, it had a bad PVC system, it was replaced/ fixed. Got it back and it was still doing the same thing. So, I took it back and he said that he checked(somewhere), and that those models were bad about the seals going out on the dip-stick. So, it was replaced, along with the oil pan gasket(for some reason). Got It Back and it started blowing smoke out of the tail pipe, and it was still leaking oil from around the oil cap. I took it back and again, I suggested a compression issues, and he said that it was NOW possible. He checked it and said that #'s 2 & 5 cylinders failed miserably, and it would be cheaper to just replace the engine. Any remarks or suggestions???

Hi and welcome to the site.

I wonder why compression wasn't check before all of the work was done.

Double check compression and post the numbers here please.
