Default Brake Pads and Rotor Replacement Recommendations

I’m looking to replace the brake pads and rotors on my 2000 S70 and was wondering if anyone has tried the ceramic pads? I was originally thinking of just going back with the OEM parts but I just hate the brake dust. Do you need a special type of rotor for ceramics or will a standard type be suitable? I know the ceramic pads cost a bit more and wear faster but if they are truly quieter and produce less dust that would be great.

I work for a ford dealer in ga so i just got the cheapest oreilly pads some bosch lifetime rotors for the front and got a set of volvo pads for the rear and machined the rotors down in the rear brakes seem good car stops so that is all i worry about replaced front rotors due to under specs for machining the fronts

Volvo Parts, Accessories and Performance Specialist Since 1963 has good pad description. I usually get pads from them that say they have less brake dust.

I'm partial to Akebono pads, virtually no dust. I just put rotors from brakeperformance.com and Akebono pads on the rear of our S80. I ran Brembo/Akebono on our XC.

Akebono pads on (street, inexpensive) Brembo rotors work well and is an inexpensive combination.
ALso LOW brake dust
